They are designed to be installable by a normal user without admin privileges and without needing much (if any) system components. CO apps are not designed to have custom setups or to integrate too tightly with the system. If you went the ClickOnce route then you aren't going to be able to do this. You do any first time initing (such as creating directories) and then persist the setting so the next time you run you won't init again. ![]() Generally speaking you look for a setting and if you don't find it then you assume this is the first time you've run. You can add a configuration setting in your program (stored in the registry or, since the app is per-user, in the user's config file) that specifies whether you've run before or not. 1) Here is the documentation for specifying the Start Menu name: (VS.80).aspx 2) Can't be done AFAIK via CO. ![]()
